*Job Location* Melbourne, Florida
*Position Summary *
The Staff Systems Engineer is responsible for technical baseline, project execution (contract funding, internal research and development, and capital equipment) and business development support. Responsible for leading and managing a team of project engineers, product engineers, and systems verification and validation engineers in developing and sustaining integrated vehicle, command post and networking solutions. Responsible for the amalgamation of network computing, data distribution, vehicle monitoring, command and control signals, and audio (voice) and video streaming into a distributed architecture including fixed, wireless and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communication, providing complete solution sets for our customer.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Technical responsibility for the total lifecycle of projects, products, systems and integrated solutions.
* Provide technical direction to a team of engineers engaged in network computing systems product development and product sustainment.
* Organize staff and create work assignments that achieve both project objectives
*Basic Qualifications -*The individual should possess the following:
* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics is required; Master's degree desired.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering management roles responsible for both new product development and product sustainment activities for fixed and mobile communication networks and systems.
* Must have experience with networking computing systems, systems, systems software, network solutions architecture and design.
* Must have a working knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) networking, audio (voice) and video distribution, two-way tactical radio systems, wireless systems, 3G/4G LTE networks and data protocols used domestically and internationally.
* Must have experience with the design and integration of electronics, vetronics and communication equipment on vehicle platforms.
* Must be familiar and have experience with CMMI V1.3 for Development Level 3, AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008 compliant processes.
* Cisco or equivalent networking certification and CSEP certification desired.
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance.
