DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **:** Individual performs video production and non-linear editing for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI). Individual performs live-to-tape broadcast as well as the pre-production, production & post-production for DEOMI. This includes the capability to transmit broadcasts of training sessions as well as broadcast other information as directed. Duties include broadcast services, operator level maintenance, operation of all A/V equipment and systems as well as maintaining records. Video services, in addition to providing electronic motion imaging, includes operation and dissemination of graphic text announcements, video clips and Armed Forces information clips on the DEOMI network. Additionally, creating and editing videos for official military purposes as required. Individual performs audiovisual and multimedia support and services for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) as needed.

Individual exercises imagination and creative abilities in response to videography and other audio/video situations requiring novel and varied treatment. Typically performs one or more of the following assignments: (1) contributes to the development of or adapts A/V equipment or systems to meet new and changing situations (2) assists in planning and organizing the overall technical A/V coverage for a variety of events (3) creates desired illusions or effects by developing trick or special effects for novel situations requiring a high degree of ingenuity and imaginative camera work and post-production techniques.

Contributes to the development of the video production plans from the technical A/V aspect in collaboration with operating officials who are responsible for project substance. Uses imagination and creative ability to implement objectives within the capabilities and limitations of cameras and equipment. Offers professional suggestions to the substance of events to be taped/filmed by staging actions, suggesting behavior of the principals, and rehearsing activities before taping/filming.


* Providing scripted and non-scripted video production for DEOMI to include:

+ Working with video production team(s) to provide video productions through all phases of production pipeline

+ Developing scripts, shot lists and story boards as needed

+ Performing director, floor manager and video/lighting/audio technician duties

+ Editing raw footage

+ Performing audio cleanup and sweetening as needed

+ Creating still and motion graphics to include 3D modeling and animated sequences

+ Creating soundtracks

+ Authoring interactive & non-interactive DVDs

+ Operation of all video, audio and computer equipment associated with A/V

+ Coordinating and implementing satellite uplinks and downlinks

+ Creating/transferring different types of video to and from various formats. (VHS, DVCAM, MiniDV, DVD-R & Electronic Media)

+ Write necessary reports and other support documentation as needed

+ Ability to think, create and execute tasks quickly in the field.

+ Assess, prioritize & address to completion expected and unexpected situations requiring immediate attention as directed by the Program Manager

+ Troubleshoot and maintain at an operator level all production/video systems as needed

+ Control room, studio, editing suites, dub-bays etc.



+ Must possess an Associate's Degree with two years' experience and knowledge in filmand video production or at a minimum five consecutive years without a degree in filmand video production

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain secret clearance if required

+ Must have valid driver's license

+ Must have strong written and oral communication skills

+ Must maintain effective working relationship with all levels of personnel

+ Must present a professional image

+ Must be able to work independently

+ Must be able to perform duties in a timely manner

+ Must have work experience in directing & producing location & studio video shoots.

+ Must have a working knowledge of developing shot lists and storyboards

+ Must have a working knowledge of operating video equipment (Video camera operation, lighting &audio equipment) in a control booth environment, studio environment and fieldproduction environment.

+ Must have a working knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining control booth systems

+ Must have the ability to follow and meet the deadlines of provided shooting schedules and deliver highquality raw footage ready for editing.

+ Must have high proficiency in digital video applications and Linear/Non-linear editing on PC &Apple platform systems and computer graphic systems.

+ Must have high proficiency in DVD authoring and encoding video for a variety of formats.

+ Must have high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe and Apple production software(Adobe Production Suite and Final Cut Pro Studio)
